My PC Hates Me

This morning I had a gift for my PC.

You see, we’ve been talking though the gap between us recently and we’ve decided to give things another go. Maybe we were a little hasty and just being too inward looking; so I decided to buy a special gift. And what better than the gift of memory?

I went online and cast around for a nice source of memory, I was looking for a 512Mb module, when I stopped myself and thought ”No, be a bit more generous & go a stage further, let’s go for the full 1Gb option”. So I did.

 This morning the memory arrived and I opened up the PC and put it in.  Easy as that! I’m glad I did it. We shared a moment of intimacy that’s been missing between us recently. My PC cooperated all the way through and now we are whizzing through the work together.

I don’t think I can say that my PC hates me today!

Just been reading about the way Apple are punishing naughty users of their iPhone for daring to make it work with other service providers than the one Apple dictate shall be used.

 A quote from an Apple source said something like “… if a user has hacked their iPhone and now it doesn’t work, they should buy another iPhone.” Gracious me that’s pretty crass!

This could be one of those classic corporate clangers that amuse one now and again.

Makes me want to nip down to the shops, and take my iPhone back again. Trouble with that is I’d have to buy one first and I don’t want to be locked into just one phone provider thanks very much.

I had hoped to pop the Google Talk box thing on the side bar but because it uses JavaScript WordPress won’t allow it.

Nevermind just go to http://www.google.com/talk/ and you’ll soon be set up.

I was talking to a friend on Skype. We’d been chatting for about 20 minutes when my PC decided that enough was enough and promptly ended my side of the call (I could hear my friend talking clearly but they couldn’t hear me).

So, just in case the problem wasn’t caused by my PC, I started looking around and I’m trying out a couple of Skype alternatives:

www.gizmoproject.com and Google Talk. I like the Google thing so I’m going to add a box about it on the side of the blog.
